Employment Services at TXRS

 

Job Readiness/Life Training Skills (JRT): TXRS offers an intensive three-day job training programs that is designed to address many of the barriers encountered by ex-offenders when seeking employment. The JRT class is offered Tuesday-Thursday from 8:45 am to 12:45 pm. Upon completion of the course, clients receive resume writing assistance and are provided with job referrals to employers in the community who have indiciated a willingness to hire individuals with a criminal background.

• Your TXRS Case Manager will sign clients up for JRT during individual appointments
  
   

One-on-one interview: Once an individual completes the JRT course, he or she meets with our employment specialist. During that interview, the employment specialist critiques his or her resume, reviews his or her workintexas.com status and provides job leads for each client.

 

Resource Room: TXRS resource room attendant is available to assist our clients with resume writing, job searches, and computer skills.
